Forecast Pro TRAC only
When you save a forecast project, Forecast Pro stores the statistical forecasts, the baseline forecasts and the final (i.e., adjusted) forecasts in the project’s database. This means that if you have been updating your project and forecasts every planning period (for example, every month), in addition to the current month’s forecast, your project’s database will contain forecasts that were generated in previous months. This record of previously generated forecasts is referred to as a forecast archive.
Maintaining a forecast archive allows you to track your forecast accuracy by comparing the forecasts that you generated previously to what actually happened. Forecast Pro offers a range of tools that evaluate forecast accuracy.
You are also able to view archived forecasts in the Override Grid and in Graphs. To include archived forecasts, use the Add or Remove button available in the Override and Graph Settings and select Previous Forecasts or Forecasts at Leadtime.
The following item specific reports allow you to deep dive into accuracy for the end-item or group currently selected on the Navigator:
The Tracking Report, also known as the Waterfall report, and its associated Tracking Report Graph view allow you to evaluate forecast accuracy using multiple metrics and dimensions for the item selected on the Navigator.
The FVA Report allows you to evaluate the accuracy of each forecast process step, from the baseline forecast to the final forecast, including all overrides. The FVA report shows if those overrides were more or less accurate than the baseline forecast. It also shows if the net impact of those overrides, as reflected in the final forecast, was positive or negative.
Forecast Pro also provides several global reports that allow you to identify which items were not forecasted accurately in previous forecast cycles.
The Forecast Accuracy Exception Report allows you to easily view last month’s forecast accuracy across all items at once. This report allows you to easily identify which items were not forecasted accurately last month.
The Waterfall Exception Report allows you to view the details shown in The Tracking Report for all items in your project.
The FVA Global Report allows you to view the details shown in the FVA Report for all items in your project.
