The Product Mapping File and Mapped History File can be saved to Excel. These files are exported in the required formats for Mapping Files. Exporting these files and importing through the Data Manager is a convenient way to update mapped histories each forecast period

Product Mapping Files

Forecast Pro supports file-based product mapping, allowing you to map the history from one item in your historic data (the Map from item) to another (the Map to item). This can be useful when you are dealing with many items that need to be mapped.

You are also able to create and export a product mapping file from Forecast Pro with the product mappings currently in your project. Creating a product mapping file from Forecast Pro allows you to easily refresh your current mappings as your data history is updated and allows you to share product mapping across projects.

You can save a Product Mapping File from the Export tab. First, select if you want to export the report for All Items, the Hot List or the items currently included in the report. Then, click the small Product Mapping File icon.

Mapped History Files

You may use a mapped history file to import values that you want to map to an item in your historic data.

You can also export your mapped histories in the mapped history file format. Doing so takes a snapshot of your mapped history, creates a mapped history file template and allows you to read your mapped histories into other Forecast Pro projects.
