Click on the Discontinue icon in the Other group on the Forecasting tab to discontinue the item selected on the Navigator. When an item is discontinued, Forecast Pro no longer generates a forecast for that item. This means that you cannot override the forecast in the override grid, and the item will not be included in the Numeric Output, by default (though this can be changed in the Numeric Output Settings or in the Numeric Output context menu).
Select Discontinue after… on the Discontinue icon drop-down to open a dialog box where you can specify the date after which the selected item should be discontinued.
Select Set Forecast to zero on the Discontinue icon drop-down to set an item’s forecast to zero for the entire forecast horizon. When you set the forecast to zero, Forecast Pro is generating a forecast. This means that you can still override the forecast in the override grid and the item will be included in the Numeric Output.
Select Set Forecast to zero after… on the Discontinue icon drop-down to open a dialog box where you can specify the date after which the forecast for the selected item should be set to zero.
Select Set Forecast History to Zero on the Discontinue icon drop-down to force the Forecast History to equal zero. The actual history for the item will essentially be ignored for the purposes of generating the forecast.
The discontinue modifiers are:
- \DISCONT: Treat the specified item as discontinued. Discontinued items are not forecasted but their historic demand does go into group-level aggregates.
- \DISCONTAFT(Year, Period): Treat the specified item as discontinued after the specified date.
- \FIXED=0: Set the item’s forecast for the entire forecast horizon.
- \ZEROAFT(Year, Period): Set the item’s forecast to zero after the specified date.
- \SET_FH_TO_ZERO: The Forecast History will be zero so the actual history will be essentially ignored.
